Photo Booth

This is my mom and dad. Neither of them could remember where or when this was. But, it was obviously a photo booth. My mom thinks its when they were about 21.

We can still be friends right?

This is my aunt Rose, on my mom's side. Year wise I don't know but I do know this is her senior picture. It's kinda funny that back then senior pictures were just this. They took them in the gym at school and you got one shot maybe two. Now kids have average of 4 outfits with 3 backgrounds per outfit. I picked this picture out for a few reasons. The color was really nice for one. What also found pretty interesting was that it looks as though someone tried to burn the picture. But, one of the main reasons I liked this one is because there was actually stuff written on the back:

It's kinda funny that she was giving this to a friend that was obviously bugging her for one since she said finally on the back. But, at the same time I'm pretty sure this didn't make it to her cause for some reason my mom has it and my mom is not Paula.

Scruba-dub-dub

This is my grandma, on my mom's side, giving two of my uncles baths. I can't really tell which ones they are but I think one is my uncle Jim. Year wise I'm not really sure. But, I think this is when they lived in Detroit since it seems pretty early. My grandma had 9 kids. Just imagine giving baths to that many kids. Man she did so much.

Love Margie

I have no idea who this other than her name is Margie. I am going to guess it was a friend of my grandparents at Redford Union High School. But what I find amazing is how many of the rules for portrait photography still apply today. The way the body is positioned. The way the head is turned. Where the eyes are looks. They are all still strictly put in place to produce the perfect picture. Having worked in a photo studio for the past 3 years, I see this everyday. Now even though the positioning isn't perfect in this picture it comes pretty close. It's so cool that something so particular can remain so constant over so many years.

Oh Ya!!

If anyone has any pictures they would like me to feature just email me them with a little back story and I'll do my best to fit them in.

Mother and Baby

Having taken pictures of horses and other animals myself I know how difficult it can be to take pictures of them, let alone good ones. I cam across this picture of one of my dad's first horses. It's name was Samson, named after the owner of the barn where he stayed at, Mr. and Mrs. Samson. Samson is the baby there. My dad said he was a pretty crazy horse.

Say Cheese

Ok, so this one is probably one of my favorites. I have no idea who this girl is. It is probably one of my grandparents friends. Other than that I don't know anything about it.

Fotos Found

Ok, so I've always had a huge love for old photographs. Today I was scanning some old pictures of my grandpa for his birthday and came across some shots I thought were beautiful. I needed to Share them with everyone.

Thus, my new series of photos are all found fotos. I didn't take nor do I know who did, and they very easily could be dead now. Either way I hope you enjoy.
